Books will be used to give students choices in literature circles. The books will be shared and rotated among teachers and grade levels. Students will participate in novel studies to determine the authors' craft and purpose as well as character development. Our goal is to increase reading stamina and to get students talking about current events related to their lives as well as problem-solving real-world issues with project-based learning opportunities. Students want to read books that showcase their own race as main characters and incorporated their cultures into the storytelling.
