As a way to increase literacy at my middle school, each content area will be focusing on a "Drop Everything and Read!" approach during our class periods. I have chosen a select group of books as a way to build a class library with titles available to students. Titles like "The Hate U Give" (which focuses on the activism of young people) and the "Seeds of America" Trilogy (which provides a first-person narrative of early America) will provide high-interest titles for my students. I firmly believe that having a wide range of interesting and relevant titles will go a long way to cultivating a love of reading!
