In my 12:1:1 classroom, many of my students are at different levels in mathematics and many are below grade level. A large part of our year is spent reviewing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. As a result of my students performing below grade level in mathematics, many of my students come to school dreading math. It is my goal to make math fun, meaningful, and accessible to all students. With your help, I will be providing my students with the opportunity to have hands-on and engaging math lessons. I will encourage my students to take a hands-on approach to learning with the Manipulative Library and Math in a Flash-Discovery Cans. These resources will make math accessible to my kinesthetic and visual learners by providing movement and visual aid to the curriculum. The Power Pen focuses on the review of all operations and provides a medium of learning for kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learners. Students will be able to hold this "magic" pen and physically select their answer to the mathematical problem. Based on the answer that the student has provided, a visual light will appear along with a vocal support. I am very excited to provide all of my students unique ways to improve their mathematical skills.
