My 5th grades boys begin to lose their enthusiasm for reading in 5th grade. Some just haven't found the right book to hook them; some have struggled with reading and give up. Some think it would be uncool to be seen as readers. With my library budget, I must buy books that support the curriculum, books for every reading level, books for students ages 5 - 12, books for both genders and fiction, nonfiction, biography, etc. I need a higher concentration of books that will appeal to my boys. Boys like graphic novels, sports books, and books with male characters. This project will help me to reach those boys and rekindle their love of reading.
