Having a classroom library will not only make the books readily available, but by having them in the classroom it lets the students know how easy it is to read every day. The classroom library is the "ticket" to literacy! The classroom library will allow me to better facilitate their interest in books. A lot of students say they don't like to read, but I have discovered it either due to their reading level being below grade-level, or they don't know what or how to choose a book. I will also be able to do "reading conferences" to discuss the book and check for understanding.
