In my math classes, we use inquiry, project-based learning, technology, and collaboration to foster 21st-century learning. We need chart paper and markers for students to work in groups and make learning visible. We need rulers and measuring tapes to investigate concepts in Geometry. And we need basic interactive notebook supplies like glue, scissors, and cardstock for students to create a product they will use all year. These supplies will boost students' confidence and engagement in mathematics while helping develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Investment in this project is investment in these students' futures. My goal when my students leave my class at the end of the year is for them to be curious about the world around them and to have the skills to answer their own questions. These supplies will help us to practice precisely that as we explore mathematics this year.
