Because my school only recently changed to a 6-8 school, there was a lot of shuffling books around and the library that I received was full of books that were old, falling apart, and just not relatable to the students who go to school here. The kids were just not interested in reading books. Our current classroom library really had a negative impact on student interest in reading as well as reading level scores. I am hoping to completely revamp my classroom library and inspire my students to become lifelong readers with books that are new, interesting, and relatable to them.
