Aside from teaching two Algebra1 classes, I also teach the only AP Calculus class in our building. Most of the time, I give them mini group projects and they always feel great when they present their work to the whole class. This type of activity gives them a chance to communicate what they learn from the group work and to let the others give their reactions about the results. When the class is big, (which is usually the case) the presentation part becomes challenging especially when the overhead projectors fail (bulbs get busted very often) or when they spend so much time writing on the board and erasing stuff on the board.
