We are currently using crates for each table to keep notebook, etc, in. They often get in the way and a few times students have tripped over them. I have very limited storage space in the classroom despite being very organized and keeping only the necessities. First graders are learning to be organized and independent. They are also energetic and clumsy. Chair pockets will allow them to work and transition smoothly and safely throughout the day. My students will appreciate this gift immensely and will be looking forward to taking care of their own notebooks, journals, pencil cases, and books.
