As a second grade team, we are trying to instill a love of reading and collaboration in our classrooms. To accomplish this goal we would like to have students participate in literature circles. During this time they will read quality text and discuss and extend their readings. A group of 4-6 students will be given a set of books. They will read the book together and then discuss their readings. Each student in the group will have a role or assignment to facilitate the discussion. When the book is finished they will have a project that they design to show their understanding.
