Kindergarteners are movers and shakers. They need to be able to move and shake while singing on our carpet, but also while we are learning at tables. Sitting in large, uncomfortable chairs is not the most ideal place to work for student learning. New furniture and equipment would give my students a variety of comfortable options to work besides on the hard chairs they are use to. These seating options will enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. Some of the seating options that will be provided with this project are wiggle seats, wobble stools, and bouncy donut balls. Having flexible seating in my classroom will allow my students to work and study in their most comfortable learning spot. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
