We use instruments to tell stories, create music and play patterns. My students love to use instruments in their musical learning. Instruments are very motivational and inspiring to children. I use instruments throughout the year as a solid foundation of our curriculum. Our school offers a music club in addition to music class as an extended time that children can learn and spend more time playing instruments like a metallophone. During book celebration weeks, we use instruments to bring books to life and students love it! Our 3rd graders put on a musical presentation in the spring that features their instrumental playing skills so the addition of a metallophone will give us added color to our sound.
