These books will continue to enhance the culture of reading I hope to build in my classroom. Each title on this list satisfies a need in our library that students have presented to me. In order to foster a love of reading, students need books that they love staring at them right in the face. A lively reading community requires that a book is available to inspire and interest every student. Our reading culture values choice and free exploration of student passions. This means we need lots of diverse books to satisfy the needs of every unique child's imagination wherever she or he is on their unique reading journey.
