My students are 5th graders at a fantastic public school. Over 75% of students at my school qualify for Free or Reduced lunch. Unfortunately for some of my students, they did not have a permanent teacher for all of last year (only one 4th grade teacher taught for the entire year, the others had to leave due to medical and family issues). This means that they are starting off 5th grade a little behind what is expected of them by both the state and by my school's demanding curriculum.
