I teach at a Title One school district in a small town in Mississippi. Over 65% of the students enrolled at our school are from single or low income families. Our school district is wonderful, but limited with funding resources. Having a small community creates a barrier for funding opportunities and possibilities. Therefore, teachers like myself must depend on support from outside resources like Donors Choose to provide essential supplies for our students. My students are very intelligent, active and eager to learn. Their state test scores prove just how intelligent they are. However, some of my students are hindered from learning due to his or her inability to sit in a confined area for a lengthy period of time. Most activities in our small group reading centers require the students to sit at a desk top in order to access the internet. My students would benefit greatly from two chrome books to use in our class.
