My students have a bit of a tough time staying in their spots on the carpet. My class doesn't have the square/tile rug so they don't have "borders" to help them know where they need to stay. They also have A LOT of wiggles as second graders tend to have. I have some flower seat covers in my reading garden (classroom library) and it helps them stay focused on their book instead of giving in to the wiggles; but I only have two flower seat covers and 2 other seat covers that look like grass. These stay in the garden. I'd like my students to have their own wobble cushion to help them with their wiggles, thus helping them focus more, and also teaching them how to be responsible. If each one has their own, they are responsible for the care of it. They'll have a connection to it and know that when it's carpet time, they can get their wobble cushion and join me on the rug as whole group or during small groups. This would be used during English Language Arts, ELD, and Math, when the students are on the carpet.
