The supplies that I would get with this grant would benefit my students in Forensic Science by addressing their needs to get back in to the lab and perform in-class experiments and mock crime scenes. The students will be able to fulfill the standards N.12.A.2 Students know scientists maintain a permanent record of procedures, data, analyses, decisions, and understandings of scientific investigations and N.12.A.4 Students know how to safely conduct an original scientific investigation using the appropriate tools and technology. Students will be able to get hands-on experience in performing mock crime scenes and exploring different careers in forensic science while doing the labs. With the evidence collection kit and fingerprint brushes, I would be able to teach the student how to properly package evidence and dust for fingerprints during the mock crime scenes. Students were not able to learn the proper ways to do these due to COVID and distance learning and have to make up for lost time in the classroom lab.
