The day before the start of the new school year, I found out that I would be teaching a kindergarten/1st grade split classroom. Unfortunately, the flexible seating I already had set up for 1st grade does not fit comfortably for my new kindergarten students. They fall off the exercise balls, they roll back in the scoop chairs and many can not sit at the low table even when stacking two to three pillows. By having additional seating, like the wobble chairs and inflatable donuts, we will help my students sit comfortably and complete their work in a timely manner. The wobble chairs are sturdy, and the perfect size to keep their little feet on the floor and wiggle safely. The inflatable donuts will allow my students to sit lower to the floor and not have the fear of rolling backwards. I know having these new seating options will stimulate my students and keep them focused, and productive. I can already see the smiles on their faces!
