Currently, we do not have enough atlases for the entire class, so students have had to share. These atlases will be used everyday to discover new information while going on a quest for different cities, countries, and geographical features all over the planet. Geography is an area in which students need continual practice and reinforcement, and while we do use technology as a resource, having real paper atlases is more appropriate for students at this age because it builds in map-reading skills, research skills such as finding information in an index, and reinforced concepts such as latitude and longitude. We use atlases for many activities on world geography throughout the school year.

About my class
