With a good selection of Hi-Lo books for the students (High-Interest Level-Low Reading Experience), we can finally give our autistic learners, MR, ELL, and learning disabled students books they will want to read, while also furnishing them with materials that suit their reading level. With our younger generations so overtaken by technology, some of the core skills like a strong ability to read and be fluent in society are being overlooked. With our LD students, this gap is widening every day. Students need high-interest books that capture their imagination, if not only to strengthen their reading, but to give them the skills to be productive citizens. These books will be critical in helping our most vulnerable students to read well and develop the skills that will help them later in life.
