Some of my students struggle significantly to read and write on grade level. Many of them respond to technology, the new way of the world, and I have seen apps on the iPad help tremendously in a student improving the skills we covered together in a lesson by practicing them more independently on the tablet. There are apps that can read aloud to them on books of their interest, writing software, math games that appear to be video games that also practice math skills. I also want to incorporate project based learning in class and have them be able to use the iPads to fo research for those projects.
