The goal of our classroom is to promote self-regulation skills with trauma informed support and to build resiliency in the children we serve. I will be doing this utlizing the Trauma Smart initiative, creating a space for children to explore big feelings and behaviors will increase their self-awareness, problem-solving, and overall competency academically. Once children have the ability to regulate their emotions, they are more capable of retaining knowledge and learning. The pillows, fidgets, Warmies plushies, and the sensory mats will give them a soft safe way to calm down. Once children have the ability to regulate their emotions they will be more capable of retaining knowledge and learning.

About my class
