My students are all bilingual with Spanish being their primary language. Most are from low-income households. My students come from all over Latin America, with varying degrees of education in their native language of Spanish. Their stories are different, but their families have come to escape the plight of their countries, in pursuit of the American dream. Their parents have made the ultimate sacrifice. They have left everything behind, including loved ones, in order to start over, just as our forefathers left Britain, and American pioneers headed west for a better life. I desire to instill in them a love of learning and provide them with the foundation to make their dreams realities.
