Allowing students to have the option to move and wiggle when sitting on the carpet or at their desks will lengthen the amount of time they can focus and be engaged in the task at hand. In return, this will help with their stamina. First grade is a year where tremendous growth takes place and I want each of my students' needs to be met. I recognize that each student brings with them their own unique characteristics to my classroom and offering these resources will provide an optimal learning environment. Giving students the option to sit in the Kore Patented Wobble Chair, or the AppleRound Air Stability Wobble Cushion will allow students to be engaged longer because they can move and work at the same time. I also added a pair of Snug Kids Earmuffs to my project because I have a student who struggles with sensory issues, and noise cancelling headphones help him feel safe and comfortable in the classroom.
