These materials will be going to children who come from low income neighborhoods and generally cannot afford or cannot get a ride to buy these items themselves. The items I selected will help fulfill the basics for my class such as pencils, paper, and notebooks. I have also added some educational posters and a globe to make learning a bit more interactive. Many of the students in my schools area live with only one parent so it can be difficult just to pay the bills, let alone buy everything a child needs to start a new school year. With these basic materials, my students will be able to take notes and learn without having to stress about how to get the things they need to succeed.
