Putting grade level texts in my students hands will help inspire a love a reading and continue to grow their understanding of literature. Help me create book club groups with a variety of texts where students can explore characters, theme, identifying main idea and details, all while loving what they are doing. We even use Soft rain to teach about the Cherokee Trail of Tears and learn all about the Native Americans and the changes that the colonists bring. This year we had to share 30 books among 113 students across grade level and we lost some great instructional time with the literature because of that obstacle.
