Using headphones will help my students use technology in the classroom. With each student having his or her own set of headphones, they will be given an opportunity to focus on the individual task at hand. In addition, having individual sets for each student will help minimize behavioral issues and conflicts. My general education students will benefit from a quiet atmosphere. My students with autism will enjoy the headphones and its volume control capabilities. In some cases, individualized headphones will also help students focus on the teacher instead of other students or the distractions caused by other environmental factors. I will encourage my students to take good care of his or her set of headphones which will also encourage responsibility.
