Project based learning allows students to utilize their personal strengths and infuse their academic products with creativity. For most projects, students get a variety of learning products they get to choose from. However, when students choose to draw or create posters, my supplies are often lacking. By donating to our project, you will help to ensure that my students get to demonstrate their learning in creative and innovative ways! Additionally, the majority of the texts that my students read are from books that are on loan from our school district. This means, that they are not able to annotate the texts with highlighters - color coding can be incredibly helpful for students. It enables them to do more targeted annotation when they examine texts, deepening their analysis and helping them document their specific insights and questions to share during discussion. The post-its and colorful pens will enable my students to color-code their notes and “mark” their texts without damaging the borrowed materials! Ultimately, this will increase my students’ academic success and help them build the necessary life-long skill of close reading.
