Our elementary students want to explore different mediums like tempera, acrylic, color pencils, and watercolor in art to express their creativity. Our goal is to learn to identify and create different 'Value Scales' by using various mediums like tempera, acrylic, color pencils, and watercolor. Learning different 'Value Scales' is important to create realistic artwork. My class at present doesn't have enough supplies which hinders the free flow of expression. The supplies will help the students with the building of their basic skills that they need to learn and enjoy art. Every students' learning style is different, and when we provide choice of medium it takes care of different abilities and style of students. Offering various mediums and choices will take care of any kind of accommodation required for an all-inclusive classroom. Our intention is to give all students a chance to express and explore themselves in class with choice based mediums. Supplies also help maintain a positive classroom environment as the students get motivated to stay on task and to explore more, and that reduces distraction.
