Many of our students come from low income homes or homes where they are the primary caregiver. Taking care of yourself and your hygiene is hard for kids in general, but it is even harder when you are trying to get multiple siblings up and ready for school. We would love to be able to provide a store of items that students can pull from when they need it. Every student deserves to feel comfortable, clean, and dignified during their time at school. It is my hope that with these items, students will be able to visit the nurse's office or another teacher and have their needs met so they can successfully continue on with their day. Additionally, these items will make a difference when our gym teacher instructs on proper teeth brushing techniques or when our nurse pulls our 7th grade girls for a discussion about periods. As educators, it is our job to care for the student as a whole, and these items would allow us to make sure that they are caring for themselves in the best possible way.
