Imagine a classroom full of students that have compassion for those around them. That work to make a difference in the world. Students that want to help others. Now, imagine this happening because of a book they read. Refugee is a timely and moving novel, based on true events, that will have a lasting impact on the lives of my students. This novel will open up thoughtful discussions about ways to help those around us, what is most important to us, as well as the way we view others. I anticipate reading this novel as a class will be an engaging and impactful way to teach my students about history, current events, and social impact.
