Globes and maps allow students to see the location of cultures outside of their own. This allows them to make comparisons between their community and the world around them. These items also help students develop a respect for other nationalities making them more diverse and less closed minded. One of the greatest needs of students, especially those from small towns is exposure to what is available outside the walls of their city. Many times their mindsets and mentalities only encompass what they see and experience around them, limiting them to pursue greater than their norm. It is extremely important for students to be exposed to different cultures (food, entertainment, health, education, environments, etc.).
