I love a good audiobook! For my students, listening to a recoding of a story while following along with a hard copy has many benefits. Some of these benefits include: providing a model of fluent reading, teaching listening skills, introducing new vocabulary, helping with decoding challenging words, and supporting literature exposure at higher reading levels. Books on tape are wonderful for English Language Learners’ language acquisition as they make connections between what they hear and see while listening. Our school library has a fantastic collection of books on tape, thank you for helping to complete our Listening Station with headphones!
