Students at our school are goal setting to get to 100% of their reading goal through the reading program, Accelerated Reader. In order to do so, they need accessibility to technology to take quizzes on each book they read. As we are a brand new school in a district that has recently cut our spending budget by millions, we do not have the technology available to feasibly support these goals. Having access to Kindles daily will create opportunities and motivation for my students to read and take their quizzes immediately thereafter, effectively giving students a greater chance to pass quizzes.
