My students are typical 9 and 10 year old children that need lessons that connect to them personally in order for them to excel. My students are from a small, rural elementary school in Kentucky. They are not exposed to science museums or authentic artifacts, so it is up to me to bring science, technology, engineering and math into the classroom. If not, these students will not be able to compete nationally or globally. I am passionate about integrating creativity in the classroom and taking any avenue needed to connect to all of my students. My students are accustomed to student centered, high energy, engaging science experiences in our room. However, after being trained on the Picture Perfect science, I know that my students are missing out on an incredible creative program that integrates science and literacy.
