Flexible seating allows children to choose where they sit. I plan to raise a table in the back corner of the room, so the high stools will allow children to sit/stand at this table when they work. Other students prefer to work in the comfy corner with bean bags. By allowing students to choose their own seats, we are empowering their learning. They feel more comfortable and safe in a flexible seating environment. We are giving students power by having various seat choices! Some students do prefer the traditional setting, but we are reaching out to those who don't fit in a traditional school setting and that's what our school is all about!

About my class
