These materials will help with curriculum enrichment and allowing students to have more opportunity and choice for independent reading. Our school has shown little movement towards proficiency in ELA, and some of these new resources will help students move towards mastery in the English language. Students are hungry for knowledge and eager to get their hands on some interesting titles. This gives opportunities for students to be constantly engaged in and out of school and helps build their language proficiency. Every day they have designated time for independent reading as well as a daily log for homework, not to mention the curriculum-required reading. An eclectic choice of books would allow for more productivity during class time.
