I want to have 6 Kindles for my students to use to encourage and develop their reading comprehension skills. Many of the students feel more comfortable with a Kindle versus a book. The font can be adjusted. The same books that are used in the classroom can be downloaded to the Kindles and thousands can be loaded. The dictionary feature will increase vocabulary. The electronic markers will allow students to annotate the text without using a pen. The more they want to read, the more they will read. Reading is not a vicarious experience- one must do it.
