Not all students have access to school supplies and this makes it difficult for them to stay successful during the school year. Having supplies such as binders, dividers, pencil pouches and highlighters on hand for them will reduce anxiety and increase comfort levels at school. During class projects it is important to have enough supplies for the class so that everyone can be participating at the same time. Currently I do not have class sets of scissors and glue sticks which means wasted time while students wait for their turn while working on interactive notebooks. Having supplies in the classroom creates equity among students.
