We currently are preparing students for jobs in their future that do not even exist today. Working with technology and having the ability to code or program a computer is a skill that would benefit just about anyone in the world today and in the future to come and is a skill that current and future employers will be looking for in their employees. By learning to code using, such devices as Osmo Coding, Botley and Go Mouse Robot , even the youngest of children will start down the very beginnings of an exciting career path, and learn valuable skills such as creativity, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking which are skills that can be used by anyone in any job or situation. My students come from a very low socioeconomic neighborhood and many have never seen the simplest of devices that are used to teach even the youngest of children to learn the basics of coding. I would love to introduce them to these fun and educational devices, as well as, increase their abilities to problem solve, collaborate, communicate and dream beyond their neighborhood to a world and future of great possibilities.
