I am hoping to acquire a document camera for my third grade classroom so that my students can better see their own work and each other's work. Using this document camera in tandem with my projector, I will be able to display student's work large-scale so that it can be viewed easily by the entire class. In my classroom, we learn from each other, recognizing that our successes and our mistakes provide equal opportunities for learning. This document camera will develop our analytical skills, our discussion skills, and our revision skills. By looking at their own work as well as the work of their classmates, students will be able to learn by observing the strategies, mistakes, and explanation that other students have provided. This document camera will also foster the discussions that my students have with each other, as they will be able to refer explicitly to work and examples as a basis for their answers.
