Speech and language intervention is critical for the success of many students at our school. An evidence-based way to target speech and language goals is the use of narratives and literature. This literature can be tied to themes to keep lessons organized and structured throughout the school year. By building my class library of high quality children's literature, and storage containers for keeping each theme organized, I will better be able provide my speech students the resources they need for success. Providing interesting and engaging themed literature throughout the year will help me support my students' unique speech and language needs. Using each donated book, I will be able to provide group intervention and target several language goals, specific to each student's individual needs. This will support their speech and language growth in the classroom and the essential communication skills needed in all facets of life.
