This assortment of items will allow my students to design, plan, and create projects in our CTE class. All of our units focus on career opportunities, personal skills, and a project to show their understanding of the content. In our food and nutrition unit, students learn basic safety, sanitation, measurements, knife skills, and plating of foods for culinary careers. We learn to cook from scratch covering basic techniques that form the foundation of culinary skills. The fashion and clothing unit students learn how to select and care for their clothing. We discuss the many career options in fashions and the impact on our world. Each student creates personalized fashion designs based on their needs and style. Housing design student discovers how housing choices impact their lives and the multitude of housing choices. We create space plans and layouts for dorms and apartments and the unit ends in students creating a 3D design home using on a digital design program.
