Having flexible seating will allow students to get their wiggles out while learning. In second grade, students are no longer learning to read, they are reading to learn. My students learn in different ways, and having a way to release unwanted energy can help them thrive during instruction time. In second grade students are becoming independent readers. having to use context clues in order to determine what the meaning of unknown words are, comparing and contrasting two texts, determining main idea, and more. This transition can be challenging for students, and I want them to feel comfortable and confident in themselves.

About my class
