These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on a saddle to them and then they complete work at their desk or in small group. If they have access to more books, their learning will exponentially increase. Since most of my students have no books at home, it gives them an opportunity to explore a world that they might never be able to visit. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I looked at titles so they would be interesting to both boys and girls so they would enjoy reading them. They will use the white boards to respond to questions asked of them when we work in small groups. They will also be able to use the white boards to do quick checks and make sure that they understand setting and characters as well as learn how to respond to questions by restating them. Students will be able to choose brand new books instead of the worn out tattered books that I now have in my reading center. They will be able to read independently at the read to self center and increase their fluency and accuracy while enjoying an adventure. I will use the organizer to put their data in folders so I can check and make sure they are reaching their goals every quarter for reading. This will allow them more success in my room because they will be able to find their notebook and see what their goal is and what they have to do to reach that goal. Having these supplies in my classrooms will afford the students opportunities that they might not have otherwise.
