Teaching kids to learn to love reading is one of best parts of teaching second grade. Having a comfortable spot that feels like home allows students the opportunity to relax, tune out the world, and dive into the world of books. My students would use the bean bags to sit in while reading to themselves or partner reading. These chairs would also be used to introduce flexible seating into my classroom allowing students to choose a different seating option, to best suit their learning needs. Having these bean bag chairs in my reading center would create an excitement for reading, beginning the path of loving to read.
