Students need a place to feel like they can take academic and emotional risks while learning valuable lessons about sustainable agriculture. I am looking to use the globe to teach students big ideas like the agricultural revolution, ancient trading networks, migration, and the triangle trade. The seeds will be used to plant a *Thanksgiving meal (possibly winter break meal) and we will also try to make our own salsa. The gloves will be used to protect our hands while gardening. The soil will give us hands on experience comparing aquaponics and traditional farming techniques. These students will get a hands on experience unlike anything they've had before. They will be supported and listened to. I am looking to get these students their high school diplomas by the end of the year.
