When used correctly, technology is highly effective in the elementary classroom. My students are fortunate to have a set of iPads to use throughout the day. The vast majority of iPad apps require sound to enhance the learning of both math and literacy skills. Right now, I do not have enough headphones for all the iPads to be in use. The headphones that I am hoping to receive will allow my students to use iPad apps to their full potential, while the learning environment surrounding them will remain calm, uninterrupted, and focused. With these high-quality headphones, my students will be able to hear letter sounds and names clearly, listen to audiobooks, and become automatic with number sense skills. I chose high-quality headphones so they will last, and so they can continue to impact student learning for years to come. I have seen how technology can improve a classroom, and I plan to take full advantage of the resources we are provided.
