My students will use these four beanbag chairs and lap desks as a place to relax while they are completing their assignments for my class. I am also confident that my students will use them as a place to read and become engrossed in the latest novel. Language Arts should be a class where students can curl up with a book and get lost in the pages of the story. I want my class to continue to be a place where my students want to be and know that they can relax, while still getting their work done. Since beanbags are portable, my students could also move them into the hallway when they are completing group work. It has been proven that when students are in a relaxing and comfortable environment, they are more willing to focus on the task at hand. My students enjoy spreading out to complete their assignments and currently some of them sit on the floor. I would like to be able to give them a spot where they can be comfortable and still get their work done. It is my goal that by providing a space where my students feel comfortable and can relax, that they will continue to learn, grow and achieve. There are times when we have activities that allow the students to be interactive and having a class set of earbuds would allow all students to participate and to not have to bring their own from home.
