The 8th graders said that the library needed to be updated to include teen areas instead of just books and tables. In assessing the library and looking at it from the eyes of middle school students, they were right. I am currently redesigning bookshelves and seating so the space can be used for a wide variety of groups and for lots of projects. MakerSpace center, a LEGO wall, chess tables and equipment, plus a conversation pit area are all in various stages of design and implementation for the middle school library. A mobile MakerSpace center is needed to store materials for student design projects. I have a collection of supplies ready for students to use but nowhere to store them and the keep them organized. A rolling bin organizer would help manage storage of a wide variety materials. A small organizer is also needed for smaller components.
